This online engagement was hosted on YourSAy from 12 October to 2 November 2020. Below is a record of the engagement.
Help us develop a new Road Safety Strategy and shape how we save lives, reduce serious injuries and deliver safer communities.
What’s being decided?
We are developing a new Road Safety Strategy to reduce lives lost and serious injuries on our roads. The strategy will guide decisions and investment, with a focus on the safe movement of people throughout the State.
Whether you drive, ride, are a pedestrian or passenger, you have the opportunity to shape the actions needed to enable us to travel and interact safely on our roads.
We want to better understand:
- how you travel around your community
- what you see as the goals for improving road safety over the next ten years
- where issues are a priority to be addressed in the Road Safety Strategy.
Help us develop a new Strategy that meets the needs of the community and supports South Australians to safely travel to work, school, shops and their homes.
Please view this explanatory video from Road Safety Minister, Vincent Tarzia.
Get involved
Read the issues paper and summary, both outlining what we know about road safety and what road safety looks like for different road users.
Have your say by:
- completing the online survey
- emailing us DIT.RoadSafety@sa.gov.au
How can your input influence the decision?
Your input will inform South Australia’s Road Safety Strategy to 2031.
What are the next steps?
The development of the Strategy will be guided by extensive consultation with stakeholders and the community. The phases of engagement are outlined below:
Phase 1 - Engagement with key stakeholders
Phase 2 - Community consultation including regional sessions in areas associated with high levels of road trauma
Phase 3 - Release of the draft Strategy for comment
Phase 4 - Publication of the final strategy
Once the current consultation (Phase 2) is closed, we will begin to develop the draft South Australia’s Road Safety Strategy to 2031. The draft Strategy will be available for feedback on yourSAy in 2021.
